Thankful Thursday- Motherhood

I normally do not write much on my blog, mostly because I do not like to edit, and I write enough for my doctorate, but my friend from The Clerical Error  and er witty posts inspired me to write.  Losing my camera is another reason that I decided to write today too!  A third reason, is a napping baby.

I thought I would share with you my spaghetti dinner stress fest yesterday.  My husband is an RD.  Since his RA’s came back this week I decided to make them spaghetti dinner to welcome them back.

So I was cooking 3 pounds of spaghetti (Husband was working), and Maria starts crying because she wants to be held. Then the boiling water is overflowing as she crawls towards me. So I keep putting her in the far part of the apartment as she is crying and the spaghetti is sticking together. This goes on for a half hour. Finally George gets there, and luckily only the bottom 1/4 of spaghetti is solidified. But that half hour was really stressful!  Sometimes being a Mom is hard, but the rest of the night was fine.  Everyone had enough to eat, Maria got to be held by many people, and we all enjoyed each other’s company.

I was using this spaghetti pot to make the spaghetti that I got for our wedding shower.  This pot only hold about 2 pounds of pasta and not 3.  I learned this the hard way, but now I know!

Thankful Thursday- Home For Three

Last week a friend told me that she is glad the saw me go though pregnancy and being a Mom because it will help her when she starts the process.

I would like to thanks my friend from Home For Three for being that same person for me.  I believe everyone needs someone to help them though a journey.  Pregnancy and Motherhood definitely has its ups and downs.  The highs are so awesome, and the lows only make us stronger :).  Hearing tips from a friend and not a book can add some personal experience to any situation.  I am so lucky to have her in my life to also just let me see what a mom does to travel. She definitely traveled with a much younger baby a much father distance than I did with Maria.  She let me borrow things, and told me what to buy and what not to buy.  So I want to thank her.  Don’t worry, your job is not over.  I get to see what to do with a toddler next! 🙂

Thankful Thursday- Avenue 209

My family is so thankful for our local coffee shop Avenue 209!  If you are ever in Lock Haven there is great coffee, ice cream, and really friendly service.  As a stay at home Mom, this is a great place for us to get out of the house and relax for a while.  I prefer to drink tea.

Thankful Thursday- Church

I am so thankful to have such a wonderful church family!  They are so helpful with this large change in our life.  Thanks!!

From About.com:
Question: What is Baby Dedication?
Many Christian churches practice Baby Dedication instead of infant Baptism.
Answer: A Baby Dedication is a ceremony in which believing parents, and sometimes entire families, make a commitment before the Lord to submit a child to God’s will and to raise that child according to God’s Word and God’s ways

Thankful Thursday- Thanks for the help

Ever since I found out I was pregnant that world has been so generous with thoughts, prayers, and gifts!  Many people have helped out with love, clothes, teddy bears, bottle, help, ect!  We feel so lucky to have the support that we do.  I try to write as many thank you letters as possible but I feel it is never enough.  Thanks everyone!!
