We had an amazing time at Great Wolf Lodge Poconos, PA. I decided to stay for the night in a standard room with my 23 month old daughter, and my husband. I asked for a room on the top floor so we did not hear the other children in the rooms above us. Half of the people staying in this hotel are under 10. Last night we were the ones making the noise enjoying our very large room. The room is as big as the downstairs of our house with high ceiling and has a balcony. Too bad we did not enjoy the balcony since in the morning it was20 degrees outside.
Day one we got to the hotel at 1PM. They said that we could not check in until 4 but since we went on a Wednesday (By the way…that is a Dane Cook joke) in November (a slow day) our room was already ready for us. We checked in, brought our stuff to the room (so we did not have to do it after we were wet), and went straight to the waterpark. The park has many young kids which was nice. My husband said he has not seen that many young kids in one place.
There was many things to do at the water park for all three of us. Small pool with small slides for our little girl, wave pool, and body slides. They have larger slides but my husband and I needed to watch our daughter. This made me a little upset because some of the large slides I wanted to ride were 2 people minimum. I am sure we will be back and I will get to ride them in the future.
At night we did some glow in the dark golf, ate dinner, and then got to watch a clock tower show in the lobby at 8. I have to admit we were not impressed by the clock show but it was something fun to all do with the guests together.
I have to admit while our daughter enjoyed her time and used much of her energy, she did not sleep well. She cried for almost 2 hours. Know we know why Great Wolf Lodge has a Starbucks.
Day 2 the waterpark opened at 9am. We got back in our bathing suits and enjoyed the waterpark again. Our stay was $220 a night that would have been for up to people. I have to admit, this is high for us since I usually find good deals. But this was a good deal at a “home school” rate I found online. But that did include water park and hotel for the night including the “show”. We checked in, brought our stuff to the room (so we did not have to do it after we were wet), and went straight to the waterpark.
I was not paid for this post.
