Rust-Oleum NeverWet

Rust-Oleum NeverWetI decided to try the NeverWet product on three things.  After thinking about different product I choose the outdoor curtains, stair treads, and the concrete steps that lead to the back of our house.

Outdoor Curtains

After hanging our No Sew Canvas Outdoor curtains we wanted them to last.  I decided to put Rust-Oleum NeverWet on the curtains to they can last for years.

The company did say” Rust-Oleum NeverWet does dry to a frosted textured haze which may alter the appearance of the curtains.”  The company recommends that you test it in an inconspicuous area first before trying the spray on the entire curtain.  Well on these drop cloth curtains I did not see a haze.  The color must match well.

I quickly realized that 3 cans would not probably cover the two curtain.  Each can should do 10 to 15 feet.  Well I would say each can would do about 10.

Also my hand did get sore pushing down the sprayer.  I wish they had a handle.  You can purchase spray paint handles inexpensively.

It is harder to see how much you applied on fabric compared to a hard surface because you can’t see where you are applying the spray due to the  porous surface.

NeverWet StairTreds

Stair Treads

After cleaning off the stair treads I applied both coats of NeverWet.  The second coat did leave a grayist tint just like they said.  Hopefully ice will not collect on them on the winter.  I will keep you updated.

Concrete Path Steps

I would recommend doing this on new concrete paves.  The pavers we have are about 2 years old and weathered.  But I added two coats of NeverWet.  I will give you an update on how they are working in the future.  I hope that ice will not stick to them in the winter.

Final thoughts- While easy to apply I hope the surface will continue to work.  The items do have a graying sheen just as stated.  At $20 a bottle this stuff may be expensive but if you have a need worth it.
