I have been looking to add a feature wall to my house for a long time. I thought about adding wall paper but who wants to remove that. Then I thought about a Air Stone wall. This definitely makes a statement!
After working on the backsplash in my house i was excited about this one. With this wall you don’t even need to grout! How exciting. That was the least fun part for me.
To buy the stuff I went to Lowes with my 2-year-old daughter. The people there were nice and helpful. All the stuff you need for your project is all in one display case. Stones, adhesive, spatula, and saw. That is all you need. We already had a level that I used for the project also.
I am working on this project by myself. I am doing most of the work while my daughter is napping.
I LOVE the results. I have done many home projects but this one give me the “Do I really love here?” feeling. I hope you start a similar project.
Day 1 of the project
Day 2 of the Project
Day 3 of the Project (Final Day!)
Here are some final tips for others who are going to start a similar project:
- Purchase extra saw blades when completing the project.
- I used pieces of the cardboard box as spacers. While spacers are not needed, some of the stones were not perfectly square. By the time I got to the middle of the wall I needed to correct some of the stones.
- While the project is not difficult, the wall took time. This wall took me about 8 hours to complete.
- Remember to try not to get the adhesive on the front of the stone. The adhesive dries white and you can see it.
